Hi, I’m Josephine, a Senior Contracts and Tenders Executive, and I’ve been working at Bidvest Foodservice for 2 years, coming from Marks and Spencer before that.
The Contracts and Tenders team support our National Account Managers (NAMs) who look after our national customers. When these customers are due to renew or review their foodservice providers, it’s our job to support the NAMs with the completion of tenders and contract extensions to win new business and make sure we keep our current customers.
Working in Contracts and Tenders, my days vary depending on the tender I’m working on, as each customer is different, so are their tenders! I start by reading the tender documents and familiarise myself with the requirements and agree our approach with the Business Development Controller, NAM, finance team and New Business Marketing Manager. I then create a tailored customer proposal, answering pre-qualification questions and working with the wider teams to outline how we can add value for that customer.
Tenders are often submitted via customer portals, although sometimes we do submit hardcopies of our work to the customer.
I have other roles and projects I am responsible for too; I manage the tender opportunities process within the team, file and log the contracts and am responsible for the Travel and Leisure customer database.
There is no better feeling than knowing we have submitted a fantastic proposal and then finding out that we’ve been successful in either securing a new contract or retaining an existing valued customer of ours!
