One business support team that supports every part of the company is our HR Shared Services team. Supporting at each stage of the employee lifecylce, the HR Assistants help our people and managers with letters and HR advice. Lauren shares her journey so far.

Meet Lauren…

My name is Lauren and I’m an HR Assistant, working within the People and Sustainability team at Bidvest Foodservice.

I joined the company just over 2 years ago at the office in Pill, near Bristol with absolutely no experience in HR at all! Over those 2 years though, I have learned so much from both my colleagues within the department and my contacts out in the depots too.

As an HR Assistant, I’m responsible for carrying out all HR administrative tasks for our depots in the North, as well as giving advice over the phone and answering queries directly from our employees. I support the HR Business Partners to help people follow our company processes and make sure all our employees are treated the way we expect them to be. I also work closely with the Payroll department, working to continually keep our systems up to date with the most recent promotions and new starters.

Within this role, you will definitely learn something new everyday. Every situation is different and requires a different approach. This can be challenging but I have an amazing team around me and we all club together to come to the right solution. There is very much a ‘one team’ approach to the work and that’s what makes Bidvest Foodservice a great place to work!
